Lios Joins the UKHCA

We are thrilled to announce that Lios Group is now a member of the UK Hearing Conservation Association. We are looking forward to being part of a group of like-minded and passionate individuals and organisations on a mission to conserve hearing and impact the prevalence of preventable hearing health conditions.

The UKHCA is The UK’s first multi-disciplinary association dedicated to preventing damage to hearing health and to reduce other noise related health conditions. Their mission is to prevent damage to our nation’s hearing health and other noise related health conditions; through practical, evidenced and cost-effective communications and solutions.

Rhona Togher, CEO of Lios Group said:

“We are proud to join the U.K. Hearing Conservation Association as a member to help support their work. The first World Report on Hearing shared by the World Health Organisation last year warns that almost 2.5 billion people globally, 1 in 4 people, will be living with some form of hearing loss by 2050.

Awareness around avoidable hearing damage and noise pollution is becoming more and more important and we look forward to working with the UKCHA to help address this issue.”

Clare Forshaw Founder and Director of the UK Hearing Conservation Association said:

“The UKHCA are pleased to welcome Lios Group to our membership. Lios Group reflects our passion and commitment to tackling the source of noise pollution and preventing harm. We look forward to working with them to learn from their knowledge, experience and insights and driving forward our mission preventing damage to our nation’s hearing health and other noise related health conditions; through practical, evidenced and cost-effective communications and solutions’

Lios is a safe haven from harmful noise. An Irish word, Lios means an enclosed space, or the space within. The name Lios (pronounced lie-us) captures our core vision of a quieter world.

Over the past decade Lios have been on a mission of eradicating noise pollution by developing materials which reduce the initial risk of exposure to loud noise and technologies which alleviate damage after it has occurred.

We look forward to working with organisations with a similar mission so together we can create a bigger impact.
